Fellowship - The National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC)

The National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC) offers a fully funded 6-year graduate fellowship in the physical sciences and related engineering. Tuition and fees provided. Stipend.

Research Program - The Graduate Research Assistant Program (GRA)

The Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) Program is a year-round educational program which provides students with relevant research experience while they are pursuing a graduate degree. In some cases, students can arrange to conduct master's or doctoral thesis research at the Laboratory. The majority of the appointments are in the technical and scientific disciplines. Appointments are available for 90 days up to one year, with option for renewal based upon program requirements. Eligibility is limited to applicants who have completed a bachelor's degree by date-of-hire, have been admitted, and are in active status in a graduate program at a college or university. Students are selected on the basis of field of study, grade point average, and research interests. Individuals may remain in the GRA program for up to three months after receiving a PhD. Scholarship - The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program recognizes outstanding scholarship and encourages independent graduate level research -- particularly by female and minority students -- in oceanography, marine biology and maritime archaeology. Congress authorized the Program, as described in the National Marine Sanctuaries Amendments Act of 2000 (Pub. L. 106-513), soon after Dr. Foster's death in June 2000, as a means of honoring her life's work and contribution to the nation. The program is administered through NOAA's National Ocean Service and funded annually with 1% of the amount appropriated each fiscal year to carry out the National Marine Sanctuaries Act.

The Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program provides support for outstanding scholarship and encourages independent graduate-level research in oceanography, marine biology, or maritime archaeology, particularly by women and members of minority groups. Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarships carry a 12-month stipend for each student of $20,000 and an annual cost-of-education allowance of up to $12,000. Masters students may be supported for up to two years, and doctoral students for up to four years.

Award/Scholarship - The Peter B. Wagner Memorial Award

The Peter B. Wagner Memorial Award for Women in Atmospheric Sciences provides $1000 to a woman pursuing her Masters or Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences or a related program at a U.S. university. Candidates must submit an original paper directly related to the identification, clarification and/or resolution of an atmospheric/climatic problem. Fellowship - Harriett G. Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship Program

The mission of the Harriett G. Jenkins Predoctoral Fellowship Program (JPFP) is to increase the numbers of women, minorities, and persons with disabilities participating in the math, science, engineering, and technology (MSET) disciplines. Up to 20 Fellows will be selected annually to receive Harriett G. Jenkins Fellowships to support graduate education leading to doctoral degrees in NASA-related disciplines. Fellowships are awarded to applicants that have been accepted into an accredited Masters or Doctorate program. Fellowship - NASA Administrator's Fellowship Program (NAFP)

The NASA Administrator's Fellowship Program (NAFP) is designed to enhance the professional development of NASA employees and the Mathematics, Science, Engineering, and Technology (MSET) faculty of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Other Minority Institutions (OMIs). Scholar Awards - Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute

Eighteen-month Postdoctoral Scholar awards are offered to recipients of new or recent doctorates in the fields of chemistry, engineering, geology, geophysics, mathematics, meteorology, physics, and biology as well as oceanography. Fellowships

L'Oreal USA will award five annual fellowships to young women who are graduate students or postdoctoral researchers in the natural sciences (biological and physical) engineering, computer science, and mathematics. A fellowship grant of $20,000 will be awarded to each recipient. The U.S. Fellowship program is open only to women in their third or fourth year of graduate studies enrolled in a doctoral program leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D. and post-doctoral researchers. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, planning to become citizens by the time the awards are announced, or permanent resident aliens of the United States. Fellowships - The National Academies

The National Academies are now accepting applications for a fellowship program for mid- to senior career professionals from underrepresented communities and Asian Americans, in the fields of science, engineering, medical/health sciences and social sciences. Selected fellows will take temporary leave of their home institutions to join the staff of the National Academies in Washington D.C. for a year in conducting studies, workshops and other activities that serve to advise the nation on matters of science, engineering and medicine. The Community Teaching Fellowship

Do you want to be a teacher? The Community Teaching Fellowship in Math and Science (CTFMS) will be recruiting during the fall quarter. CTFMS provides an opportunity to explore the world of teaching. Postdoctoral Research Awards

The National Research Council of the National Academies offers 350 awards annually for postdoctoral research to be conducted in participating U.S. government laboratories. Awards are available in all areas of science and engineering. Awardees design their own independent projects to be compatible with the interests of the sponsoring laboratory. Annual stipends for recent Ph.D. recipients range from $34,000 to $61,000 with annual increments for experience beyond the Ph.D. Information and application materials are at http://www.nationalacademies.org/rap.

Graduate Fellowships

Graduate fellowships for women in aerospace-related fields. Zonta International, an organization for the advancement of women, is accepting applications for Amelia Earhart fellowships for women who are pursuing graduate degrees in aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering.

Graduate Summer Opportunity - National Science Foundation

The U.S. National Science Foundation's East Asia & Pacific Summer Institutes (EAPSI) provide U.S. graduate students in science and engineering with first-hand experience in research environments in Australia, China, Japon, Korea, and Taiwan, as well as an introduction to the science and science policy infrastructure of these countries, and language training during an 8-week summer program. International airfare, living expenses in the host location, and a summer stipend of $3000 are provided. The program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Applications must be submitted directly by the individual graduate students.
